Tracheal Collapse Management & Stenting

Tracheal collapse occurs when the cartilaginous rings of the trachea (windpipe) weaken and flatten, causing a narrowing of the airway. This obstruction leads to; chronic coughing, airway inflammation, respiratory distress and in severe cases, life-threatening airway obstruction or collapse. The condition can worsen over time and is often exacerbated by excitement, exercise, or obesity.

Diagnosis of tracheal collapse

Correct diagnosis and grading of tracheal collapse are essential for selecting the right treatment plan.
